Potato Fry |
INGREDIENTS
- potatoes 1/2kg
- onions 1 large
- oil 4 Tsp
- salt to taste
- turmeric a pinch
- paprika or red chili powder 1tsp
- jeera(cumin seeds) 1 tsp
Peel the potatoes and cut them into equal sized pieces.Cut the onion also similar to potato pieces. Heat the pan and pour the oil and once the oil is heated add the potato pieces.Add the turmeric and let cook for 3 minutes with the lid covered. Now remove the lid and increase the flame and add the onions. Let cook for another 2 minutes stirring in between. Now add the salt and if desired add a tablespoon of oil. Keep on stirring occasionally till all the ingredients have a crisp golden color. Now finally add the chilly powder/paprika and cumin seeds , stir for 30 seconds and serve.
TIPS
- To enhance the taste of the dish try masala karam or jeelakarra kara instead of chilly powder.
- To get a perfect crisp layer on potato pieces do not cover the fry pan(expect at the start).
